How can I hear your music?
Several selections are available on this website.
Wedding, Events, Memorials.
Most of Skookums' performances are private events. You
may hear her at a number of fundraiser auctions throughout the year, public holiday events in November and December or on the CD "Merry
Christmas From Alaska 2".
You are welcome to call Skookums at 522-5550 with

Where do you perform?
Skookums can be booked for events within driving
distance of Anchorage; Fairbanks, Homer, Valdez, and all points in
between. Convention halls, churches, gardens, dining rooms, museums,
yachts, B & B's and restaurants, indoors or out, will be enhanced with Skookums and her harp.

How much space do you need?
4' x 4' is enough space for her harp, sound
equipment and lighting. Skookums' electric harps are amplified to
fill a large ballroom or garden or can be played in the quieter setting of
a living room.

What kind of equipment do we need to
provide?
Skookums provides all the sound equipment needed to
provide cathedral sound in your location. Her equipment can be used with
existing sound systems or with your DJ's system. A consummate
professional, she knows the local sound technicians and can make sure that
all your guests will be able to enjoy the music while enhancing your
event.
Skookums also provides the lighting equipment and
riser covers for a flawless presentation.
Backup equipment is available to ensure your event is
perfect.

What will a Harp add to my
wedding?
The harp makes the statement that your dream has come
true. Choosing the harp is giving a gift to yourself and your
wedding guests. Your guests have the opportunity to watch a performance.
For many people it is
their first chance to see a harp being played and experience this memorable
elegance.
The bride and her family will find the harp music
soothing and relaxing. Skookums, a professional musician, contributes to
the success of this once-in-a-lifetime day.

Who chooses the music?
Your consultation is
held in Skookums' Anchorage studio. After she listens to your
description of your wedding, she will offer suggestions to musically enhance
your ideas. As she plays a selection of music, you are given the opportunity
to select a minimum of three pieces, 2 processionals and 1
recessional. Music is also lovely for a unity candle and communion.
Most brides say that the music is the easiest part of your
wedding planning.

Do you take special requests?
Special requests are welcome. Skookums has arranged
requests from Bach to the Beetles. You can play almost anything on the harp
including classical, Irish, Scottish, and popular music. Normally Skookums
finds that the most romantic music truly suits the harp including movie
themes, show tunes, and tunes with emotion.
Will you play at my ceremony and reception?
Yes, reception music is available at hourly rates.
Your rehearsal dinner is another perfect setting for Skookums' harp.

What if my wedding starts late?
Most weddings do start a few minutes later than
scheduled. The harp music is not
only soothing, it is also a performance and will help keep a
peaceful relaxed mood for your guests even through a 45 minute delay.
Skookums has a set fee for your wedding. This includes
your consultation and any overruns due to delays.

Do you need to attend the wedding
rehearsal?
No. During your consultation, Skookums will discuss
your order of ceremony and she will speak with the officiating minister or
priest. The harp music will create a "sacred space" for your
ceremony from the arrival of the firsts guests through your triumphant
recessional.

What kind of events are
best for the harp?
The harp will add a true elegance to any gathering
from an intimate dinner to a gala event. Corporate events, installation of
officials, receptions,
fundraisers, political events, garden parties, grand openings and birthday celebrations are all well suited to the
harp.

harp, they know this is a special event. Once the
music begins, they will hear her exquisite expression that keeps her in

Skookums has played in many private homes, to all of
Anchorage's hotel's grand ballrooms, to the private yachts in Prince William
Sound. She has played for dignitaries, celebrities and our archbishop.
Her presence contributes a unique beauty to memorial

Her bookings have been as diverse as a restaurant for a couple's
